Guild Ranks, Roles, Rights and Responsibilities

This document lists each of the various positions in the guild. The formal name is listed with the (text in parentheses) is the name of the rank on the in-game roster.

Board of Directors

Chairman of the Board

The duties of the chairman are to preside over the Board of Directors and to conduct its business in an orderly fashion. First among equals.

Members of the Board

While only meeting occasionally, the Board has the ultimate control over the policies and direction of the guild. The Board is tasked with defining the goals of the guild and the policies associated with the achievement of the guild. The Board then gives these mandates to the Chief Executive Officer to execute. During normal day-to-day operations, the Board has no official power, though members of the Board may sit in other positions within the guild.

In the event of a vacancy in the position of Chief Executive Officer or any Chief Role Officer, the Board of Directors is responsible for selecting a permanent replacement. Selection to the Board of Directors is initially limited to founding members of the guild and meant to reflect the range of groups that comprise the guild. Additional members of the guild may be added to the Board as is necessary to accurately represent all members.

The Board has access to view the Officer Forums, but is strongly discouraged from posting, unless there is a specific point of clarification needed. Generally, the Chairman will be able to answer any specific questions.

Guild Officers

Chief Executive Officer (Chief Officer)

The CEO will oversee daily operations and administration of the guild, though will be mostly dedicated to ensuring that the other officers and directors are performing their jobs in a timely and efficient manner. This person ensures that the goals of the Board are being met and that the guild is progressing at an acceptable pace. If the CEO determines that any Director is negligent in their duties, it is the CEO's responsibility to replace the individual. If another Officer is found to be grossly negligent, then the CEO has the power to remove that Officer from their position. The CEO is also the chief spokesperson to the WoW community.

In the event of a vacancy in another Officer position, the CEO will select an individual to serve as the acting officer until the next Board meeting where they will select a permanent replacement.

Chief Role Officers (Guild Officers)

The Chief Physical Officer (CPO), Chief Healing Officer (CHO) and Chief Caster Officer (CCO) are tasked with overseeing the players that fall under their specific role. The CROs are tasked with assisting in the evaluation of new recruits, the education of current members, the resolution of member disputes and the advisement of the CEO. CROs also sit on the Loot Council as needed, and handle any questions members may have about items, talents, skill rotations, attendance and member expectations. CROs also handle activities as assigned by the CEO.

Chief Liaison Officer (Guild Officers)

The CLO is elected by popular vote of all members of the guild and serves a two month term. A CLO cannot serve in two consecutive terms unless there is no one else willing to fill the position. The CLO is tasked with being the direct voice of the guild members among the officers and handles any specific grievances that members may have. They also directly oversee the Directors and assist them whenever needed. Furthermore, the CLO is tasked with member reviews, and provides recommendations to the Officers for promotions and demotions. The CLO also handles activities as assigned by the CEO.

The CEO, CROs and CLO are the only people with officer access throughout the guild. This includes access to the Officer forums, ability to promote and demote people, and the ability to invite into and remove from the guild.

Guild Directors

These a people who are in charge of specific duties. They are not officers, but may oversee a team of two or three people, based on their workload, and need to delegate. Outside of their specific areas, directors have no other responsibilites.

Director of Recruitment

This person is in charge of postings to solicit new recruits, interviewing potential recruits, advising the Guild Officers about recruits, and ensuring that recruits become acclimated to the guild. The director is in charge of assisting Trial Members throughout their evaluation period, and to be a point of reference for those interested in joining the guild.

Director of Attendance and Loot Tracking

Title says it all. This is the person who is in charge of making sure the website is up to date.

Director of Events

If we decide to regularly hold PvP nights, Dailies nights, etc. this is the person who will help organize it. This might be needed, this might not.

General Assembly

These are the general members who have little responsibility beyond their day-to-day WoW activities.

Veteran Members (Veteran Raiders)

This is a special rank for the raiders that have stuck with the guild for an extended time. Veterans have proven their long commitment to the success of the guild, and have shown an exemplary level of talent, maturity and initiative. Members of this rank may vouch for a player, and have them invited into the guild as a friend and casual player. These players may sit on the Loot Council.

Full Raiding Members (Regular Raiders)

These are the members that have gone through their Trial period and are now eligible for making regular withdrawals from the guild bank, getting some reimbursements on repairs, and having first rights to items that drop. Raiding members must maintain a 60% attendance rating for the last 30, 60 and 90 days, or they will be demoted to Casual Raider status. These players may sit on the Loot Council.

Casual Raiders (Casual Raiders)

Players with this rank have the skills, talent and gear to raid, but are unable to maintain a 60% attendance rating. They will have second rights to items that drop (after Raiding Members). If a Casual Raider demonstrates the ability to maintain an acceptable attendance rating, they may be promoted to a Raiding Member. If a Casual Raider's attendance falls too low that they are too far behind the gear curve to raid on the regular raiding nights, they will be demoted to Non-raiding Members. They are allowed to deposit into the guild bank, and may make limited withdrawals. These players may sit on the Loot Council.

Trial Members (Trial Raiders)

These are new recruits to the guild's raiding progression. They must maintain an 80% attendance rating for their 30 days on trial. At the end of those 30 days, they will have a week of Administrative Duties where they will be required to take on an aspect of the daily maintenance that is required to keep the guild running. If they pass this five week trial, they will become a Raiding Member. Trial Members have third rights to items that drop (after Raiding and Casual Raiding Members). They are allowed to deposit into the guild bank, but cannot withdrawal on their own; however, they may ask a raiding member or officer for limited withdrawals.

Non-raiding Members (Friends/ Family)

There are some people that have fun in the guild, but are not necessarily going be of raiding quality. They are good people, and the guild would like to have them for general chatting, but they are either not skilled, talented or geared enough to assist with raiding progression. These members of the guild must maintain a high decorum of maturity and will be closely watched to ensure they are not a detriment to the guild as a whole. These members have no responsibility to donate or participate in the functioning of the guild, and they are not permitted to raid in the regularly scheduled 25-man raids. They are allowed to deposit into the guild bank, but cannot withdrawal; however, they may ask an officer for limited withdrawals.

Member Alts (Member Alts)

These are the alts of the guild's raiding members. Any alt that reaches one-month since last online is eligible for removal from the guild. They are allowed to deposit into the guild bank, but cannot withdrawal.

Bank Alts (Bank Alts)

These are the alts of the guild's raiding members that are used for personal banks. They are allowed to deposit into the guild bank, but cannot withdrawal.
