I Fucking Hate Spammers
So, this site had been, more or less, fine for the last few months. The occasional spammer would slip through, but it was easy enough to just delete their wrongdoings and continue from there.
Unfortunately, they've targeted this site, and now we are getting 20-30 new user registrations a day, and attempts at 200-500 posts a day. So... I have to lock user registration down a little tighter than I had hoped. New users will need to supply a valid email address, and confirm that it's valid. I have also had to scramble up the CAPTCHA used for registration a little more. All in all, I'm not happy about doing it, but fighting spam is an ongoing battle, so we'll have to see how well the latest defenses work.
Fuck spammers.
Cleared Naxx [10]
A united front of <Kitten Mittens> and <Darker Than Jealousy> (or at least DTJ at heart) finally were able to clear Naxx [10] and now get to start the hunt of Malygos.
Congrats to the many recipients of loot, may they keep you alive only that much longer in the neverending quest to kill everything we see.
First Foray into Naxx [10]
Well, with the help of three members from <Kitten Mittens>, the crew went into Naxxramus and cleared the Arachnid Quarter and the Plague Quarter. We got down to the Four Horsemen in the Military Quarter, but after several hard wipes, we decided to move on. Several loots went all around, too many to list.
Tanks: Shnookow, Illender, FourPaws
Healers: Uvvi, Rhidden (sober, too), Bearflower
DPS: Aerynlore, Delix, Narrelivh, Hearthlynn, Mallevus
Lessons learned:
The Four Horsemen are still a pain in the ass.
Apparently Death Knights wear plate, too!
Protection Paladins make the best off-tanks when your Main Tank is a lazy bastard.
Hunters (especially BM) are broken. Expect a nerf to PvE damage.
Wrath of the Lich King and DTJ
Well, the expansion has been out for 10 days now, and we have some congratulations to make:
First goes to Rhidden, for being our guild's fastest leveler.
Aerynlore and Uvvi hit the level cap the next evening, with Shnookow following them.
Shavi and Illender finished off their leveling recently, leaving us with a handful of raiders that still need to level.
But Congratulations to those players, now it is time to farm the heroics, and then we'll start venturing into Naxxramus.
Vote!
Seriously, I don't care who you vote for, but go to the polls and vote.
That is all.
Ramping Down Until WLK
Because of the abysmal showing for raids over the last few weeks, we're going to stop regular guild raids. Those of us online last night (Sept 21st) chatted, and instead of trying to guilt get people to come online for Karazhan and Zul'Aman raids, we are just going to keep a standing open Karazhan raid every Monday night at 6:30pm Server.
No one is required or expected to show up, and whatever slots we need to fill at raid-time, we will find random people on Maelstrom to join us. Basically, we're hosting a PuG Kara every Mon evening.
So, go ahead and post in this thread with any toons that you would like to run through Karazhan. If you don't need anything from Karazhan (including badges), don't bother posting. If you don't plan (or want to) raid, don't bother posting.
Other than this, there may be some guild PvP nights, and possibly some Heroics evenings, but for now, we'll be pretty relaxed until Wrath of the Lich King comes out (Nov. 13th).
To ZA We Go!
Sunday, Sept 21st and Monday, Sept 22nd, we are raiding Zul'Aman.
Post in reply whether you can make it or not. And if you say you can make it... YOU BETTER FUCKING SHOW UP. Gkicks will commence for no post, no shows.
